ADULT ACNE AND IT'S SOLUTION ACCORDING TO AYURVEDA

Hello friends today's post is for that adults who are still affected with acne.As the skin for this age group is matured than teen age group so this is called as matured acne or simply adult acne. Now I had already posted articles on all causes and treatments for acne and also some dos and don't s for acne prone skin on my another website

But adult acne is completely a different topic.we can call teen pimples as physiological one as there are physiological changes in body, skin, and harmones.And mostly they subside after that phase.But in some cases acne persists popping out.And these have some what complecations while treating with allopathic medicines.what are that?The main problem is almost all that medicines either in applicable forms like gels or creams or  internal medicines , they causes overdrying of skin and make it very sensitive.Matured Skin is not that oily like in teens to afford overdryness and thus it may cause wrinkled and dehydrated dull skin.so here is the reason why to switch Ayurvedic treatment while treating adult acne.Ayurvedic treatments are not killing pimples but increasing your own healing and regenerating power to kill pimples yourself making skin more pampered.

So let's see main causes of adult pimples

1) Most commonely finding cause is ignorance of skin care and also health care,and as i stated before in another article acne prone skin always needs more attention than any other.
Teens are offen passionate about their skin and fitness but in order to increasing age people specially women becomes inert about selfcare.Sometimes increased responsibilities make them to keep health on sidelines.But the fact is body demands more care taking according to increasing age.
At teenage skin is oily but firm, cellular regeneration and healing is fast compared to matured skin.Also it is more elastic and hydrated.Now oily skin  and hydrated skin are different things.Oil is secreted by sebaceous glands of skin of which main intension is to maintain skin PH.While hydrated means good water containing one.Oily skin looks shiny because of oil released on it but it can be dehydrated and dull beneath that oil.while hydrated skin looks firm and healthy because of well restored moisture beneath skin layer.It looks soft and healthy. Matured skin though it is oily can be dehydrated one as oil only forms a layer on skin and to keep skin healthy we have to provide moisture both internally and externally.

2)  Pollution, UV rays, overheating invironment all are responsible to make skin weak and fragile badly.In matured skin as already skin's regenerative and healing power reduces the skin becomes damaged and becomes more sensitive.Excessive dust and pollution causes more sebum or oil secretion on skin which then clogs pores causing breakouts.

3) Pregnancy, switching on or off to contraceptive pills,post natal weakness these all are common causes of acne break outs in women of fertile age.Cause for this is fast changes in harmones.

4) Sometimes menopausal syndrome can show acne.again reason is harmonal ups and downs.

5) Stress is very influencing trigger factor for acne.

This is all about causes and now we will see precautions​ and treatments .

Though acne is only skin disease but still for its health complete body health is essential.And reason for this is mentioned by Acharya Sushrut,the great surgeon of ancient time.

तस्य खलुएशम प्रवृत्तस्य शुक्रशोणितस्या भिपच्यामानस्य क्षीरस्य एवं संतानिका सप्त त्वाचो भवन्ति।।

In this Sanskrit shlok  Acharya said that when shukrashonit that means ovum and sperm gets fertilised and then cell multiplication and division starts then skin comes out covering whole body surface just like  we heat milk and slowly cream starts floating on surface.Thus skin is all Saar bhag or purified part of our body.
Also it is a biggest organ of body.But it is not included in vital organs.What are vital organs?These are organs which on getting hurted cuases death  or life threatening troubles.Heart ,brain,lungs are examples of vital organs.And for that reason body provides more attention on these organs and least attention on peripheral organs like skin.So in conditions like starvation or malnutrition body naturally supply more nutrition to vital organs to save life and skin don't get all nutrition.And hence skin is the first part which gets affected by malnourishment.So to keep skin toned, nourished  ,healthy one should eat properly both in qualitative and quantitative way and not only external application can do all the job.And healthy skin has less tendancy to breakout vice versa rough fragile skin becomes dry dehydrated and to compensate this, body secrets more oil on skin and worsen the problems.
So take food on time . Add all healthy, fresh ,seasonal fruits and vegetables to your meals.Drink sufficient water.And the most important is never skip your breakfast.

As body's regenerative, healing and detoxifying tendancy decreases at this level ,so we have to increase these properties with exercise.Cycling ,walking,some heavy exercises if you can tolerate and offcourse yoga.The all purpose is to provide excessive Oxygen,to detoxify cells , to provide impulse to body for regeneration and to increase blood supply on peripheral area.These all things can be achieved by making exercise as your daily routine.Deep breathing exercises are providing such a good Oxygen to body that skin becomes so fresh that no cosmetics can make it.Sweating with exercises causes excretion of biowaste products from body,moisturises skin keeping it soft and one more function of sweat is to maintain skin PH and thus reducing oil secretion.Also it is a part of temperature regulatory system of body so it reduces overheating of body.Streching exercises like yoga  stimulates regeneration of skin cells and increases blood supply.

Body also needs rest to heal cellular level damage.while sleeping vital organs remain at rest and blood supply moves towards periphery.for this reason minimum 6-8 hours sleep is must.

Next step is keep skin clean,dirt free and oil free.Always do cleansing,toning. Wash regularly face with any little bit strong cleanser or with wheat flour at least three to four times a day. After washing apply any water based,non comedogenic,or non greasy cream on face to avoid entry of dirt particles in opened pores.This is all about daily care for skin as a precaution to avoid adult acne. If still acne persists then Ayurveda is here to solve problems.

First of all detoxify body using Ayurvedic Detoxification methods called pancha karma treatments.With the help of these we can  remove all biproducts of oxidation process in body what we called as ageing factors. There are five procedures named WAMAN,VIRECHAN,NASYA,BASTI AND RAKTMOKSHAN. All are equally beneficial for acne treatment. But deciding Which one is suitable to whom is all expert's job. It should be done under expert's supervision only. So visit any trained graduate Ayurvedic Doctor for these treatments.
Also there are some medicines to be taken orally for Detoxification of blood Which we called raktshodhan aushadi.One very famous and effective blood purifier is mahamanjishthadi kadha.

Next step for acne treatment is increasing immunity and balancing harmones. For this purpose one should take RASAPACHAK WATI AND SHATAWARI KALP. These two when used together are very helpful for improvement of skin texture ,to increase immunity and to regulate body harmones.

If someone has hyperacidity or regarding digestive problems then should be sorted out as they are responsible for increasing body heat. SUTSHEKHAR WATI, AAMPACHAK WATI,KAMDUDHA WATI these are medicines which are helpful to solve above problems. Also there are some medicines like chandraprabha  wati and arogyawardhini wati Which can reduce oil secretion on skin and provide nourishment to improve skin tone and texture.
This is very superficial guide for adult acne treatment . There are many other valuable medicines in Ayurveda's pocket. But all this treatment needs expert's opinion so don't try out anything at home and just visit a legally proper person of Ayurveda and get treatment accordingly.

All above are medicines to be taken internally. But next very important part of treatment is external exfoliation of skin. Here are some Ayurvedic LEPA or facial packs for exfoliation.

1) vacha churn,lodhra churn,saindhav, mustard seeds. Mix all these powders and mustard seeds and add rose water to make a paste.wash face with water first,then apply this paste on clean face and gently massage in circular movements for five minutes.Then leave it till dry on face and then wash with cold water .This one is for oily and combination to oily skin types .

2) vacha churn, lodhra churn ,kushth churn,dhanyak churna.Mix these all churn or powders and add honey to make paste.Then do same as above.This is for dry skin types.

The best time to do exfoliation is night time as skin gets all night to repair damaged cells and to expell dead cells. After this apply any non greasy water based moisturiser or night cream to face to avoid any clogging  and also to provide hydration to exfoliated skin.

MELASMA AND AYURVEDA
